Where the heck IS Dark Skies this year?? We're not on Roach Lake
anymore and we got priced right off of the Delamar site. We were
thinking about putting the whole thing on flat bed semi's and just
rolling around the southwest for the weekend, stopping at various rest
stops for pee breaks. But then we realized that the wind would be
terrible and that's not very green so we scrapped that idea too.Dark Skies 2008 is to be held at a beautiful private site called Mojave Drums near Meadview, Arizona. It's about 2 hours drive from Las Vegas across the Hoover Dam.
FROM LAS VEGAS (about 107 miles) and points north:
Take US-93 south to the Hoover Dam. Be advised that to cross the dam, they need to be able to see EVERYTHING in your truck or trailer.
If it is packed to the roof you will be stuck there offloading until they are sure you are not transporting “bad things”.

Cross the dam and head south on US-93 to mile marker 44, Pierce Ferry Road/CR25 and turn left.
Continue on Pierce Ferry Road 33 miles you will see a flagpole on the right 1 more block to Mojave Drums on your left. Welcome home!
FROM LOS ANGELES and So-Cal (about 400 miles)
Take I-15 north to I-40 East.
Take I-40 east into Arizona to Exit 48, US-93 North.
Take US-93 North to mile marker 44 Pierce Ferry Road/CR25. Turn right on Pierce Ferry Rd and
go 33 miles there will be a flagpole on the right then it’s 1 block to Mojave Drums on your left. Welcome home!
